Top selling sunscreen for three years running: Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel review
Sunny days are slowly but surely coming and it's time to start thinking about which sunscreen meets your needs this summer. Today we present Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel, the number one selling product for three consecutive years and was relaunched in February 2024.
What makes Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel special?
Sodium hyaluronate and ultra-low molecular hyaluronic acid achieve high water retention, and their skin care formula provides a real sense of hydration even for those whose skin feel dry after applying sunscreen.
This product uses silica, a naturally occurring ingredient that is both people and environmentally friendly. UV absorbers contained in the formula that block a wide range of UV rays from A to B wave UV are less prone to decrease its protective function caused by sunlight.
It protects the skin from pollen, dust and dirt, and despite being waterproof, and can be easily washed off with soap.
SPF50+/PA++++, suitable for both face and body, making it an easy option to stay safe in the sun.
Fragrance-free, colourant-free, paraben-free, mineral oil-free, and hypoallergenic.
The Feel
Perfect to use as a final part of your morning skincare routine, it doesn't feel dry after application, as is often the case with high SPF products. It does not brighten up your skin tone, so even if you apply too much, it will not leave your skin looking pale, which means you can easily (re-) apply it on the go without a mirror.
The texture and feel is similar to Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence I reviewed year,
but despite its name, Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel is more like a lightweight emulsion than a gel. Since I'm not a big fan of gel type skincare products, I liked the texture of Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel on my skin.
Which Skin Aqua sunscreen is for you? Super Moisture Gel vs Tone Up UV Essence
Both sunscreens are SPF 50+/PA++++, waterproof, can be used for face and body, and can be rinsed off with soap.
If you like to incorporate UV protection into your daily skin care, I recommend Super Moisture Gel, as it feels like applying an emulsion, very lightweight and moisturising.
If you like sunscreen that would also double up as a makeup primer with a brightening effect, Tone Up UV Essence is for you. This can also be used on the body, and it naturally brightens up the skin.
My daughter likes to use Tone Up UV Essence when she’s not wearing makeup but finds that it affects her skin tone if she wants to apply foundation that exactly matches her skin tone.
I’ve tried both under my makeup and haven’t really found much difference, but I personally like to use Super Moisture Gel on my face as it feels like an emulsion and Tone Up UV Essence on my arms as it evens out uneven skin tone and brightens up my ‘usually darker than my face’ skin.
I tend to feel dried up after using conventional sunscreens, but both products are extremely moisturizing and does not feel heavy or drying on the skin.
Summing up
If I were to take one SPF 50 sunscreen on a holiday, I would go with Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel, which feels like part of my skin care routine and can apply and reapply without looking into a mirror.
I hope this review helped you choose the perfect sunscreen for the summer this year. Of course, you can always have not one but two (or three!) sunscreens depending on when and how you want it to work for you!
