Standing Saucepan Lid Makes For Easy Cooking

   Picture this; you’re in the kitchen whizzing about like the amazing chef you are. You chop your ingredients perfectly, you add the right spices, you hum away to yourself as the sauce bubbles nicely but it’s time to add the lid. You fumble around in the cupboard to find the right lid that fits the pan but the cupboard seems to have swallowed your lid into the endless lid vortex… the pressure is on before the sauce is ruined! Or if you’ve been good and prepared all of your utensils before you started your cooking experience but accidentally, in your cooking flurry, placed the lid a little closer to the hob than desired… you grab the lid but alas it’s been burnt from the fire.      This universal pan lid has a few fancy features that will tickle your fancy for sure. I was extremely impressed with the sizing – it fits up to 5 sizes without magic! The sizes are 26cm, 27cm, 28cm, 29cm and 30cm! That’s a range that will fit most saucepans and big skillets. For me it was perfect for my pots to boil my veg but also for simmering my secret spaghetti sauces in my favourite skillet. I hate it when I’m ‘in the zone’ in the kitchen and I just can’t find the matching lid to the pot; it’s such a waste of time and gets me all flustered. No need for that stress anymore as this pan does the trick for every pot and pan I use. At 470g it’s the perfect weight to sit firmly on the pots, even if the bubbles and steam are going for it! 

     As the handle is foldable, it’s easy to put it away in the cupboard for next time without taking up lots of space. That’s right!! A foldable handle! When you’ve finished cooking you can easily click the handle down so that it lies flat against the lid; it’s unbelievably handy for storage and you aren’t left trying to play Tetris with your lids & pans in the cupboard. 

 The next feature that wowed me was that this pan lid is standable! If you’re anything like me when you’re cooking, your sauce has been bubbling away nicely and you take the lid off for the taste test… you place the lid within reach to replace again in a few seconds but the side of the lid or the handle ends up getting burnt because you’ve placed it too close to the hob. It’s THE WORST. I haven’t had that problem since I’ve used this pan lid. The special handle on the lid allows for it to stand! That means no more accidental burns or melting handles, phew! The shape of the lid allows for use with different style pans too – I have a few skillets with an “up style handle”,  rather than the flatter style, and I found that the lid worked really well with both! 

     Are you tired of the guessing game of whether the water is boiling or the stew is stewing? No need to keep lifting the lid to have a peek (which can interfere with the appropriate heat and cooking); this lid comes with a glass section to make it easy for you to have a nosey at how everything is going, without taking the lid off!      Personally I’d give this skillet lid a 10/10 for functionality. It works wonderfully with every pan I own, is easy to clean, stands, folds, has a glass window to peek through… the only thing it doesn’t do is sing but I know you will be doing that whilst using it as it makes your kitchen concoctions easier.
