Shiseido Elixir Superieur Lotion Revamped in September 2022: Reviewing the best-selling collagen boosting lotion!

Today I am sharing with you my review of Shiseido Elixir Superieur Lift Moist Lotion that has had a makeover on 21st September. This is perfect for ageing skin that needs a little more TLC especially during the winter months.
New Elixir Superieur Lotion III (Very Moist)
Type III lotion is not as watery as type II (or I for that matter), and it absorbs quickly, adding much needed moisture to the skin. It is aimed to quench the skin while softening the outermost layer, which leads to naturally glowing skin.
I’ve lived in UK for 16 years now, and I often feel my skin is dry on the inside, no matter how much moisturizer I put on. I came across Elixir Superieur Lotion nearly ten years ago, and since then my skin feels more plumped and moisturized without the need for reapplying moisturizers during the day.
I’ve also used the lighter versions, type I and II before during the very hot and humid months in Japan, but found they were not moisturizing enough for the less humid climate here in UK.
What’s new about the Elixir Superieur Lotion?
This medicated lotion promotes the skin’s inherent ability to produce collagen, making the skin feel firmer, clearer, and brighter, tackling problems that are related to ageing.
The previous version focused on reviving old collagen in the skin, but through research, they have found that watercress extract works on skin cells to produce new collagen, which is in the new version, making it more potent for ageing skin. I love the fact that Shiseido keeps looking for ways to improve their formula. No wonder Elixir Superieur has been the best-selling lotion for 15 years!

How to use Elixir Superieur Lotion
After cleansing / washing the face, I take a small amount on my palm, enough to cover the whole face, and gently massage onto my skin. I repeat this 2-3 times until my skin feels well moisturized. I use both in the morning and evening, and when I use this lotion, my skin feels moisturized for longer, having a slight glow to it.
After continuous use, my skin has less breakouts, feels soft and supple. This is something I have not been able to achieve with other lotions. I enjoy the time I spend taking care of my skin, it’s a relaxation time, not a chore, and the aqua floral scent of the lotion adds to that sense of wellness that I am taking good care of myself. And the lotion does the hard work, helping collagen production, keeping my skin moist and tacking ageing skin…how good is that?!
It’s perfect for the coming months when the air gets drier, especially with the heating on (even if less so this year…) and cold winds blowing.
