No more worries even on the heaviest nights- have a good night’s sleep with a peace of mind - Kao Laurier Sanitary pads review
When you move to a foreign country, there are many things you don’t expect to be so different, and for me, one of them was the quality of sanitary pads. It’s certainly not something you’d think about when moving abroad, but quite a lot of Japanese women I know have struggled to find sanitary pads similar to what they were used to.
Kao Laurier Sanitary Night Pads 40cm - 10 sheets Lavender scent
These pads are 40cm long, which is the longest of their sanitary pad variety. They are designed for nighttime use so that you can sleep without being worried about staining the bedding or changing the pads during the night.
A notable difference compared to UK sanitary pads is that they have a 3D structure that moves with your body that eliminates any gap that can lead to leaks, making it possible to absorb menstrual blood even if you toss and turn during your sleep. Absorbent and quick dry sheet locks in the blood so the surface stays dry and comfortable until you change the pad.
The pads themselves have a very tiny hint of lavender, but the pads themselves are not scented (only the labels are) and will not irritate sensitive skin.
Focused on comfort and functionality
One of the main characteristics of Laurier Sanitary Night Pads 40cm is their length that prevent leaks at the back. There is a guide mark on the pad that makes it easy to place so that the pad doesn’t get twisted or out of place. These pads have three times more highly absorbent polymers compared to their previous versions.
Laurier Sanitary Night Pads 40cm are pretty thick compared to similar night use pads sold in UK, but personally, I don’t find them uncomfortable at all. In fact, I feel protected and have never woken up during the night even on the heaviest nights. The surface of the pad is smooth and silky, rather than being a mesh-like texture, adding to the comfort. I also like the fact that the wrapper has an unwoven feel instead of plastic, so when you open it, it doesn’t make a massive noise, telling the whole world that you’re on your period.
Laurier Sanitary Night Pads 40cm are made of polyethylene, polypropylene and polyester.
Verdict
Pros
- Highly absorbent and x3 absorbent polymer keeps the surface dry and comfortable all night.
- Fits to the body to prevent leaks.
- Long enough to prevent leaks at the back.
- Very lightly scented, you can hardly smell it (can be a negative point if you like heavily scented stuff)
Cons
- Thick and bulky to be carrying around.
Laurier Sanitary Night Pads 40cm can also be used during the day when you know you can’t change the pads often or when you play sports. I tend to wear absorbent period underwear with these pads when I want to be 100% sure that I will not have to worry about leaks, but I’ve never had any accidents with normal undies using these pads either.
Being on your period is uncomfortable as it is, but by investing just a bit more for yourself with these Laurier Sanitary Night Pads 40cm pads, you will not be worrying about it both day and night and will have a good night’s sleep!
